Graduate in Law from the European University of Madrid (UEM).

Spanish, English.

After completing his law’s degree, Manuel began his career in 2001 at his family's business, an industrial property boutique established in 1915. In 2004, he finished his training and successfully passed the qualification exam from the Ministry of Industry, becoming a licensed patent and trademark attorney for  the Spanish Intellectual Property Office.

In 2009, the firm decided to expand into the international market by participating in major international conferences such as INTA, APAA, and MARQUES.

In 2015, the firm took another step towards international market development by focusing on assisting clients with patents, trademarks, and designs in front of European institutions (EPO and EUIPO). Likewise, Manuel joined the board of directors of the Industrial Property Agents Association (COAPI), a position he held until 2021.

Manuel began travelling frequently to China and initiated a collaboration with a local IP professional, establishing a permanent presence for the firm in Shenzhen. This move facilitated communications with local companies and helped the firm understand the needs of Chinese clients, leading to a significant increase in cases handled and greatly enhancing the team's experience in European practice.

By 2018, thanks to a dedicated and tireless team of eight specialists, the firm became the leading entity in trademark and design filings before the EUIPO among all IP firms in Europe during Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4. During this period, Manuel focused on managing various litigious proceedings before the EUIPO and the CJEU, in both trademarks and designs, while also assisting clients with European Patent prosecution.

Following this experience, Arpe Patentes y Marcas merged with H&A (Herrero y Asociados) at the end of 2020, with Manuel joining as a partner. From 2020 to 2023, he managed his family firm within H&A's structure and participated in H&A's International Department. After the merger's completion, Manuel continued advising and handling cases for his clients from the International Department of H&A.
