Alfonso has been an associate at H&A for more than seven years, holding multiple responsibilities and positions in different departments at the firm.

His international activity and commitment to several Intellectual Property organizations, such as INTA, IPO and AIPPI has made of him a go-to professional within the firm when it comes to dealing with international IP protection strategies, going from filing projects through enforcement actions, with a particular emphasis on North and Latin America. While being a European attorney with experience in substantial trademark matters, both at European and Spanish national level, Alfonso has meanwhile developed a deep know-how of North American and Latin American IP law and practice, which has proven to be a game changer for many clients at H&A, both domestic and international ones.

Alfonso´s international clients value his approach to their matters by not confining to merely following instructions, but providing them added value based on his knowledge and experience of European and Latin American law and practice, and his ability to coordinate professionals aiming to achieve successful results through team work. Domestic clients rely on his advice on brand protection, key for their business activity in the United States and Canada.

Alfonso counsels several start-up and mid-size companies in Spain, getting involved in their national and international brand protection strategies and advising them on the basis of a cost-effective approach.

Alfono has been recognised as Best Lawyers in Spain 2020 “Intellectual Property Law”. He is an active member in the AIPPI Spanish Group and in the INTA “Internet Committee”. He is also voting member in the IPO “International Patent Law and Trade” Committeee, and non-voting member in “IP Licensing”, “Emerging Technologies” and “US Trademark Law” Committees.
