QUALIFICATIONS

Carolina graduated from the well-known Law School program of the Universidad Externado de Colombia in 2008. Carolina is admitted to practice as Attorney at Law in all of the Colombian territory. She has an LL.M. in Intellectual Property and Information Society Law from the University of Alicante in cooperation with the EUIPO, well-known IP Law program in Europe and a well-stablished reference for Latin America.

EXPERIENCE

Carolina is member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee (INTA), of Women in IP Leadership Team (AIPLA), of MARQUES and the IACC.

Carolina started her professional career in Bogotá, as a junior associate of the Colombian Law firm Prieto & Carrizosa Abogados (today called Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría), she worked with both the ADR Department and the IP Department for over two years.

In 2009, she moved to Alicante to study the IP specific LLM program known as the “Magister Lvcentinvs” at the University of Alicante, where she graduated from in 2010.

After working for a short while in the European Trademark Department of Clarke Modet & Co. (Spain), she went back to Colombia as a Senior Associate of the Colombian Law Firm Prieto & Carrizosa Abogados (today called Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría).

For almost 8 years, she focused her practice in Alternative Dispute Resolution issues and defense of Trademark and Copyright portfolios for international clients in Latin America and North America, acquiring a huge experience in IP Rights protection in the later country.

Carolina has successfully counseled clients in a comprehensive manner, specially of North American and Latin American backgrounds. She has worked, hand by hand, with US and European Lawyers to defend important multinational clients in national and international cases. She specializes in ADR and complex evidentiary consultancy for international clients.
