Isabel Alvarez joined H&A in 2010 as a Patent adviser in the Chemistry, Pharma and Biotech department.
Her practice is mainly focused on biotech, pharma, medical and food fields and her main tasks involve drafting and prosecuting patent applications in Spain and abroad, as well as preparing patentability, infringement and freedom to operate reports, amongst others.
She is also in charge of Supplementary Protection Certificates prosecution in Spain and Portugal.
She is experienced in prior art searches thanks to her work at the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office before joining H&A.
She has published her thesis and post-doctoral research work in peer-reviewed journals and presented her work at national and international scientific meetings.
She is a qualified European Patent Attorney (EQE) since 2016 and she is a member of an Examination committee for the European Qualifying Examination of the European Patent Office.
She is also a member of EPI (European Patent Agents Association) and IPO (Intellectual Property Owners Association).
