EXPERIENCE

PROFESSIONAL

Since 2006 until he joined H&A in 2016, Jaime Urrutia worked as a consultant at some of the most prestigious industrial and intellectual property firms, as well as at other consultancy firms, advising clients on the IP protection strategies most appropriate to their interests, and implementing Industrial and Intellectual Property Advanced Management Systems in technology firms.

As part of his international experience, in 2010 he was hired by the Universidad Tecnológica de Aguascalientes (Mexico) to manage the business incubator for medium and high technological intensity companies. His main functions were to contribute towards the launching of new innovative business projects and to advise entrepreneurs on all the legal aspects relative to Industrial and Intellectual Property.

Additionally, he has advised other Mexican companies in this field through his firm Durvant Innovation, specialised in Industrial and Intellectual Property and other consultancy solutions focused on the management of R&D&I, area in which he also has experience and training via AENOR (Standard UNE 166.002).

TEACHING

From the outset of his professional career he has given lectures on Industrial and Intellectual Property in various forums and as part of in-company training.

As of 2010 he is a professor at the Master’s Degree in Industrial Property, Copyright and New Technologies, at the Universidad Panamericana (Mexico).

In 2015 he participated as an expert for the European Commission in its “EU/Latin America Survey on Intellectual Property, Internationalisation and SMEs”, Mexico chapter.

Furthermore, he has written various articles on Industrial Property, Innovation and Consultancy.
